1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. It makes it possible, for example, to keep you logged in from one page to the next or to remember a display preference. Some information is also stored locally in your browser (local storage).
2. What Locagex uses
Locagex relies on strictly necessary elements to work:
- a session token kept in your browser to keep you securely logged in;
- a theme preference (light or dark) stored locally;
- a language preference (French or English) remembered so you stay in your chosen language;
- minor display preferences (displayed currency, filters) for your comfort.
These elements are essential or intended to improve your experience; they are not used to profile you.
In addition, there is an advertising measurement tracker: the Meta pixel, described in section 4.
3. Types of cookies & trackers
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Authentication, security, basic operation | Not required (exempt) |
| Preferences | Theme, language, displayed currency, saved filters | Not required |
| Advertising measurement | Meta pixel: measuring visits, sign-ups and subscriptions coming from our campaigns | Consent |
4. Meta Pixel and Conversions API
Locagex promotes its service through advertising on Facebook and Instagram. To know which campaigns actually bring sign-ups, we use two tools from Meta Platforms:
- the Meta pixel, a script loaded in your browser. It sets the
_fbpcookie (browser identifier, 90 days) and, if you arrive from an ad,_fbc(click identifier, 90 days); - the Conversions API, which sends the same events from our servers, so they are not lost when a browser blocks the pixel.
If you arrive on the site through an advertising link, we also keep, in the lgx_attr cookie (90 days, specific to Locagex), the parameters of that link (source, campaign, Meta or Google click identifier) and the landing page. They are saved with your account when you sign up, so we know which campaign brought you.
Events measured: page view, sign-up, opening the payment for a plan, subscription payment, application to a listing and viewing request.
Data sent to Meta: _fbp and _fbc identifiers, IP address, browser type, page address and, for a sign-up, a payment, an application or a viewing request, your email and phone number in hashed form (irreversibly scrambled before sending). For a payment: the amount and the currency. No management data (properties, tenants, rent) is sent.
Meta uses this information in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can manage the ads you see from your Meta ad preferences.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary elements may, however, prevent you from staying logged in or from using certain features. Blocking third-party cookies or using an ad blocker stops the Meta pixel from working, without affecting your use of Locagex.
